WHAT IS W.H.O.?
Every year at the annual Spring Conference, CCA honors members who have made special contributions to their chapters, CTA, and CCA with the W.H.O. (We Honor Ours) Awards.
CCA State
W.H.O. Awards
Who may be nominated?
The CCA State W.H.O. nominee is any community college member or staff person who has made significant contributions to the Community College Association and the teaching profession on the local and state level. The nominee should have a wide breadth of experience within CCA and an outstanding record as a leader and advocate.
Who may nominate?
Any community college member or chapter may submit a nomination for the CCA State W.H.O. Award.
How many CCA State W.H.O. Awards will be given?
Only one (1) CCA State W.H.O. Award may be presented annually.
How will the winner be selected?
The CCA Officers determine the annual recipient of the CCA State W.H.O. Award.

How is the CTA State W.H.O. Award Recipient selected?
The CTA State W.H.O. recipient is selected by the president or designee representative of J-HE. The groups include Student CTA (SCTA), California Faculty Association (CFA), Independent California Colleges and University Faculty Association (ICCUFA), and Community College Association (CCA)
Chapter-Nominated W.H.O. Awards
Who may be nominated?
Any community college member or staff person who has made significant contributions to the local Association and the teaching profession may be nominated. (Statewide contributions may be desirable but not mandatory). The nominee should have a record of leadership and advocacy on the local level.

Only local CCA Chapters may submit nominations for these awards.
How many CCA Chapter-nominated W.H.O. Awards will be given and how will they be selected?
All individuals nominated by local chapters will receive awards. There will be as many awards presented as there are nominations submitted; however, local chapters may select only one individual per chapter to receive this award. An individual may be nominated for an award in more than one category.
Other Frequently-Asked Questions
Can W.H.O. Recipients attend Professional Development Workshops?
Chapter W.H.O. Recipients may be eligible to attend CCA Professional Development Workshops on Saturday if there is space in the workshop. (Such action requires approval).
Are nominators who are non-delegates expenses covered?
Chapter W.H.O. Awards are submitted by CCA Chapters. Chapters are responsible to select nominator as chapter delegate or identify a chapter representative in attendance to participate in W.H.O. ceremony as nominator.
As a local chapter CCA Who Award Recipient, how am I reimbursed?
Delegate Chapter W.H.O Recipients
Reimbursement for one night of lodging and transportation costs if driving or the equivalent of economy airfare if flying (receipt must be included), per CCA Bylaws. Exception: Saturday full rate may be reimbursed if sharing a room with your guest to accompany you to the W.H.O. Awards. (Remember to register your guest before finalizing registration by responding to the question, "Register Another?" Answer the prompt “Yes,” then add guest information as “Type.” Complete your registration by selecting meals for Saturday Dinner/Sunday Breakfast).
Non-Delegate W.H.O. Recipients
Reimbursement of Saturday night lodging (when sharing room with guest) and up to two dinners and two breakfasts
