The San Bernardino Community College District Teachers Association is a wall-to-wall unit that serves as the exclusive representative of all academic regular, contract, and hourly instructors, counselors, librarians, college nurses, and all department heads. The Executive Board consists of President, two Vice-Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, two Grievance Representatives, Political Action Chair, two Part-time Representatives, and two representatives each from San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College.

San Bernardino Valley Union Junior College District was established in 1926. The first campus to be built was San Bernardino Valley College on a 30-acre site on the east side of Mt. Vernon Avenue, between the downtown areas of San Bernardino and Colton. At its peak, enrollment exceeded 15,000 students; it currently stands at approximately 12,000.  Crafton Hills College opened in 1972 on rolling hills above the Yucaipa Valley near the Riverside County border, and currently serves apporoximately 5,200 students.

The district serves the cities of Big Bear, Bloomington, Calimesa, Colton, Fontana, Grand Terrace, Highland, Lake Arrowhead, Loma Linda, Redlands, Rialto, Rim of the World, Running Springs, San Bernardino, and Yucaipa.

Mission Statement

The mission of the San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) is to promote the discovery and application of knowledge, the acquisition of skills, and the development of intellect and character in a manner that prepares students to contribute effectively and ethically as citizens of a rapidly changing and increasingly technological world.

This mission is achieved through the District's two colleges--San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College--the Professional Development Center and public broadcast system (KVCR TV-FM) by providing high quality, effective and accountable instructional programs and services.
