The forerunner of Lassen Community College began in 1925 when the Junior College Department of the Lassen Union High School District was established and began conducting classes on the Lassen High School Campus. Twenty years later, increasing enrollment led to the construction of a separate building for the college adjacent to the high school. Another 20 years down the road saw the establishment of the Lassen Community College District, and planning for a new campus.

Today, the Lassen College campus, located on Highway 139, consists of 165 acres and 39 buildings. In addition to classrooms, laboratories, and offices, it has a dormitory with a capacity of 90, a library, college union, computer rooms, a large gymnasium and outdoor recreation facilities.
