Fifty California Community College Bargaining Issues

You can examine the fifty community college bargaining issues against your local contract and determine if you should include them in the next negotiations as re-openers or issues that you have that need further development or different language that is not in your contract. This publication provides three reasons why a CCA chapter might use as a justification for having the issue in the contract. It also provides three reasons or responses the District may use to negate, reject, or refute the reason and issue. The document also provides specific language CCA President Ron Norton Reel found from our forty-three contracts that support, clarify, and support the issues. Note that he did not deal with the following issues because most all contracts were pretty specific about them: Tenure Review, Leaves, Grievances, personnel files, and voluntary and involuntary transfers.
